THE PROBLEM
In some properties a combination of porous building materials and an exposed location can lead to the penetration of moisture through the building structure which is the result of wind-driven rain rather than dampness originating below ground. This can often cause damage to internal plaster and decorations and contribute to fungal decay in timbers.

THE SOLUTION
Cannon Clarke Surveyors are fully trained to identify this relatively rare set of circumstances and to specify an appropriate solution. This is usually the application of a breatheable, acrylic-based surface coating to the exterior of the building. In some circumstances Specialist Re-plastering will be required to make good internal surfaces affected by the penetration of water. If this is the recommended approach then Cannon Clarke will be able to supply and apply the necessary coatings to provide a long term solution.
